After your initial franchise fee is paid, the rest of the estimated costs include expenses to fit out your GolfU facility with the necessary equipment, fixtures and initial inventory. Costs include professional advisory fees from 3rd parties, insurance and 3-months of working capital.
The time to open depends on how quickly you find a location. Once you become a GolfU owner, you have our full support to get you up and running quickly. We will help you evaluate real estate options, select the equipment you will need and offer step-by-step guidance to help fit out your GolfU Facility. Once you commit to a location and sign your lease, you should be able to open in as few as 3 to 5 months.
You’ll follow our recommended furniture, fixtures and equipment including simulators and training areas. We will train you on how to setup your facility for safety and efficiency in running your classes and programs. All staff members will be required to complete the GolfU Coach certification programs.
GolfU provides lesson plans for each program level as well as a plan for appropriate seasonal offerings. We have systems and verbiage that are kid friendly and easily understood – our core focus is children. Our structured program will enable kids to safely progress through levels while building necessary golf fundamentals.
We do expect you to actively participate in the business. If you are not a Golf Pro and do not have a background in golf education, you can hire or partner with someone who will fill that role. We believe that some GolfU owners may own more than one unit, if you do own more than one unit we require that you have at least one Golf Coach employed full time at each location. Your interest in creating the experience and love of golf is most important – hiring a great team is a must.
If you are an Owner Operator, you will most likely start as the Golf Coach and manager and we recommend between 1 and 2 team members to assist with Par-Tees and larger events depending on time of day or day of the week. You will then hire full or part time staff as you grow to meet the demand as you add classes, leagues Par-Tees and other special events.
While we can’t answer that question directly, we will be able to share with you our Financial Performance Representation, called an Item 19 in our Franchise Disclosure Document which highlights affiliate performance and history. This can be a useful tool to help you evaluate the ROI.
